Advancement Via Individual Determination (AVID) is a college skills based class that is being implemented this school year to better prepare Planada students for success.
 
Medical Academy for Students mastering Technology Education  Research and Science (M.A.S.T.E.R.S.) is a college preparatory class with a special focus in the medical field.  This class gives Planada students the opportunity to explore future careers, colleges and participating in study trips to various academic institutions.
 
English Language Development (ELD) is a class designed to support English language learners in their endeavor to prepare to became proficient in the English language. 
 
8th Grade History class will focus on studying the Age of Exploration, creation of the 13 U.S. Colonies, American Revolution, American Government, Westward Expansion, and Civil War.   
 
I am a 7th-8th grade Social Studies, AVID, M.A.S.T.E.R.S., and ELD teacher at Cesar E. Chavez Middle School.  I have been fortunate to be part of this district for 12 years.  As a person who grew up in Planada, I remain passionate about teaching the kids from my community.  
 
I graduated from CSU, Fresno with a B.A. in History and Chicano Studies, with a Teaching Credential. Throughout my academic career I acquired an English authorization.  In pursuing higher education I recently graduated from CSU, Stanislaus with an Administrative Credential and an M.A. in Education.
 
I love to travel and consider myself to be life-long learner.
